Workstations → Usage
Understanding how the Lens system is being used by your users is crucial for optimising costs, and improving the user experience for end users. The usage page provides widgets that gives clear insights into how the system is being used, and where there are areas for improvements.

Widgets
Pool usage
The pool usage widget shows how many users are connected to workstations in each pool over the defined time period. This time range can be changed by clicking the date/time picker and selecting a new range.
In-use workstations
This widget shows which pools are used the most, measured by minutes-in-session. This allows administrators to calculate which teams or groups of users are using the system, and for how long. This data can then be used for internal ‘bill-back’ or other purposes.
Scheduling efficiency
This widget shows how effectively the Lens system is minimising wasted workstation hours. This is measured by counting the number of minutes a workstation has been running for versus the number of minutes the workstation has been in session. The result is a percentage showing how efficient the workstation usage is.
100% means that for every minute the workstation is running, a user is in session. This is a perfect score!
0% means that a workstation has been running without anyone ever connecting. We want to avoid this wastage.
The graph allows administrators to tune their policies and scheduling to be more aggressive, and further reduce wastage.
