Managing remote access

In order to provide the best level of support, 7fivefive need to be able to access the NAS system remotely. Remote access to the system can be provided in a few ways, such as via a customer’s VPN. To make this easier for customers, 7fivefive also provide a remote access solution on each NAS that can be enabled to provide secure remote access for 7fivefive engineers.

Managing the remote access service

Checking remote access status

  1. Open the nas-tui utility from the command line

  2. Under the System section, select the Networking option

  3. Under the Network: Remote access menu, select Get status

Enabling/disabling remote access

  1. Open the nas-tui utility from the command line

  2. Under the System section, select the Networking option

  3. Under the Network: Remote access menu, select Enable/disable

  4. On the confirmation screen, select the desired option

Reconnect to the remote access network

If network issues or another problem have caused remote access to be interrupted, you can reconnect to the 7fivefive remote access network.

  1. Open the nas-tui utility from the command line

  2. Under the System section, select the Networking option

  3. Under the Network: Remote access menu, select Reconnect

Troubleshooting

Checking the log

If reconnecting to the remote access network still has not fixed the issue, then more information may be required by 7fivefive to fix the issue. The following instructions show how to access the debug logs that can be provided to 7fivefive.

  1. Open the nas-tui utility from the command line

  2. Under the System section, select the Networking option

  3. Under the Network: Remote access menu, select Show debug log
