Improvements

Samba & Gluster VFS improvements

With this update, the virtual file system module used by SMB clients has been improved and optimised. This has resulted in improved latency and better performance, specifically for smaller files.

File system performance and stability improvements

In this update, we have migrated to Gluster 11 which has brought many improvements and bug fixes. An improvement in deleting files and directories and improved performance for small files are the biggest changes here.

Security

In this update, we have migrated to Samba 4.18 which has brought a number of security fixes.

A previous security mitigation resulted in a performance regression in the Black Silver NAS build. In this version, a fix has been made to address this performance decrease.

SMB1 has been deprecated from this release.
