In some environments, it may be desirable to change the system time, or the server where the system get’s the time from. These are usually systems that are moved around the world. Ensuring the time of the system is correct ensures that domain authentication works as expected, and aids troubleshooting.
Changing NTP time servers
Network Time Protocol (NTP) is how the NAS nodes ensure that each node stays in sync with each other, and other systems. If a NAS system is connected to Active Directory, then the Active Directory server(s) will be set as the NTP servers too. Usually, once the NTP server has been configured it does not need to be changed. In the event that it does, you can change the servers via the NAS dashboard. To do this:

Navigate to the
Node Statuspage (Found in theSystem) menu -
Select the node/server you want to update the settings for from the dropdown list

Click the
Settingsbutton -
Scroll to the
NTP sourcessection -
Use the ➕ or ➖ buttons to either add or remove time servers

Click the
Savebutton to update the node settings -
Repeat steps 1-6 on all nodes which need updating
Changing the timezone

Navigate to the
Node Statuspage (Found in theSystem) menu -
Select the node/server you want to update the settings for from the dropdown list

Click the
Settingsbutton -
Scroll to the
Timezonesection -
Select the desired timezone from the drop-down menu

Click the
Savebutton to update the node settings -
Repeat steps 1-6 on all nodes which need updating
