Managing users (Shares)

Viewing users & groups

To view a list of local and domain users available to the system: From the Shares menu, select Users & groups.  It is possible to filter domain & local users via the filter icon for each list. Locating a specific user or group can be easily done via the filter search box.

User management

Add a user

  1. From the Shares menu, select Users & groups

  2. Click the Add user but

  3. Enter a unique username, and password

  4. Confirm the password

  5. Select a group (If available) from the drop-down list. As well as any group you put the user in, All users will be added to the 7FiveFive NAS users group.

  6. Click the Add user button

  7. Changes will be reflected on the page shortly (Refresh required)

Change a users password

  1. From the Shares menu, select Users & groups

  2. Select the user you would like to edit from the list

  3. Click the Change user password button

  4. Enter the new password, and then confirm the password

  5. Click Change password

Remove a user

  1. From the Shares menu, select Users & groups

  2. Select the user you would like to edit from the list

  3. Click the Remove user button

  4. Click Remove

Change user group

  1. From the Shares menu, select Users & groups

  2. Select the user you would like to edit from the list

  3. Click the Edit user options button

  4. Select a group (or multiple) from the drop-down list

  5. Click the Edit user button

Group management

Add a group

  1. From the Shares menu, select Users & groups

  2. Click the Add group button

  3. Enter a unique group name

  4. Click the Add group button

  5. Changes will be reflected on the page shortly (Refresh required)

Rename a group

  1. From the Shares menu, select Users & groups

  2. Select the group you would like to edit from the list

  3. Click the Edit group options button

  4. Enter the new group name

  5. Click Rename group

Remove a group

  1. From the Shares menu, select Users & groups

  2. Select the group you would like to edit from the list

  3. Click the Edit group options button

  4. Click Remove
