Testing policies

Understanding which policy will or will not get applied can be confusing, as the policy engine considers many different data points. Lens includes a Test mapping tool that makes understanding this easy and allows administrators to tune policies with ease.

1. Login to the Lens Portal as an administrator

2. In the sidebar, navigate to the Workstations item, and then select Configuration

3. Navigate to the Policies tab group, and select the Test mapping option

4. Set any (or none) of the Test setup dropdown menus to test which policy will be applied:

   1. User - The connecting user

   2. Pool - The pool the user is connecting to

   3. Workstation - The workstation the user is connecting to
      

1. Click the Test button

2. You can click on each policy to show more details about why it did or did not match, and show which ruleset and rule was responsible for this.
