Widgets: The toolbar

The toolbar widget provides quick access to infrastructure, scheduling and workstation creation controls. It is a core part of the Lens Portal dashboard.

What does it show?

1 - Create workstation button

The button opens up the create workstation modal where users can easily deploy one or more workstations based on workstation templates they have made previously.

2 - Infrastructure control button

The infrastructure control button will change depending on the status of the Lens Platform and the infrastructure. For example, If all the infrastructure is off then the Start infrastructure button will be shown. Users can start, stop and cancel infrastructure operations easily with this button.

3 - Pending workstation shutdowns

When the Workstation Availability Manager deems that a workstation is no longer required, it queues this workstation to be shut down. The length of time to wait before shutting down the workstation can be configured on the schedule. Any planned workstation shutdowns will be easily visible

This button provides a list of all pending workstation shutdowns, and the time until the workstation is shut down.

4 - Workstation scheduler

Once a workstation schedule has been created, the status of the scheduler can quickly be changed and a list of active and upcoming scheduled events can be seen.

5 - Infrastructure scheduler

Once an infrastructure schedule has been created, the status of the scheduler can quickly be changed and a list of active and upcoming scheduled events can be seen.

6 - Clock

This will display the time at the user’s current location. Hovering over the time will also display the timezone the user is in.
