Resetting the API key on Windows

Removing the API key

In some circumstances, it may be required to reset the API key that is generated between the Lens Workstation agent and the Lens Portal. For example, if you are creating a workstation image that will be cloned and used for other workstations, the API key need to be removed so that the Lens Agent re-registers for the workstations that are provisioned with the cloned image. Follow the instructions below on how to do this:

  1. As an Administrator, open the Registry Editor

  2. Navigate to the path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\7fivefive\Lens Workstation Agent

  3. Remove the item ApiKey

Registering a workstation

Once the API key has been cleared, the Lens Workstation Agent will attempt to register itself again on startup. To restart the agent, do the following:

  1. Open Powershell as an Administrator

  2. Run the following:

    CODE
    Restart-Service LensWsAgent
